DApp & Transition Currency

Digital infrastructure for new forms of societal organisation

In collaboration with La Sageocratie & Le Laboratoire Conscientiel

01 Context

When a new social model demands new tools

The founding work La Sageocratie describes an alternative model of societal organisation — grounded in wisdom, relational harmony and a living economy. Every new organisational model calls for its own infrastructure. A world shifting paradigm cannot indefinitely rely on the tools of the paradigm it is moving beyond.

Web Harmonie is charged with designing these digital infrastructures: decentralised exchange systems, a transition currency adapted to internal exchanges within sageocratic organisations, and distributed applications that make governance without a single centre of power possible.

02 Workstream no. 1

The Reliances infrastructure

A system for recognising contributions — decentralised, immutable, without central authority. That is what Web Harmonie is building.

Our mandate

La Sageocratie defines the Reliances as a system for recognising contributions to the living world — distinct from any currency, points system or rating mechanism. The concept is documented and explained in detail on the Sageocracy.org website.

Our role is different: to design and develop the technical infrastructure that makes this system possible, reliable and unalterable. A decentralised application — DApp — hosted on a low-energy blockchain, without a central server, without a single owner.

The central constraint is as much technical as ethical: what is recorded must not be modifiable. Not by an institution. Not by a state. Not even by us.

What the DApp must enable

  • Contribution declaration — each member can submit a contribution with its context, beneficiaries and observable impact.
  • Multi-level collective validation — local recognition by the relevant group, co-validation by direct beneficiaries, final on-chain recording.
  • Permanent traceability — verifiable history for all, with no possibility of retroactive modification. Immutability is not a rule — it is a technical impossibility.
  • Governance without a centre — no single actor, including Web Harmonie, holds privileged access to the system once deployed.
03 Decentralised infrastructure

Low-carbon DApp architecture

The Reliances rest on a decentralised application infrastructure designed from the outset to minimise energy impact and maximise resilience.

01

Lightweight consensus protocol

Replacing energy-intensive Proof-of-Work with adaptive consensus mechanisms (Proof-of-Authority, Delegated Proof-of-Stake or hybrids) calibrated for community networks with low transaction volumes.

02

Governance smart contracts

Community rules — Reliances issuance, voting rights, membership conditions — are encoded in audited and immutable smart contracts. Governance becomes transparent and free of any centralised trusted third party.

03

Lightweight & accessible interfaces

Progressive web applications (PWA) provide access to the Reliances without requiring any technical expertise. The goal: an experience as simple as a standard bank transfer, for all user profiles.

04

Data sovereignty

Every member controls their own cryptographic keys. No central entity can freeze an account, censor a transaction or access personal data without the explicit consent of the holder.

05

Resilient peer-to-peer network

Peer-to-peer architecture eliminates single points of failure. The network remains operational even if some nodes go down — essential resilience for communities wishing to operate independently of centralised infrastructures.

06

Open interoperability

Bridges to other complementary monetary systems enable inter-community exchanges while preserving the rules of each network. Interoperability without uniformisation.

04 Concrete applications

What the Reliances will enable

Rewarding contributions

Recognising acts of service, teaching, care or creation within the community — contributions currently invisible to the dominant economic system.

Internal exchange markets

Decentralised marketplaces where goods, services and expertise are exchanged among members — without intermediary commissions, without value extraction by third-party platforms.

Collective project funding

Community co-financing mechanisms (crowdfunding in Reliances) allowing the community to collectively direct resources towards the projects deemed most valuable.

On-chain voting and governance

Transparent, verifiable voting systems for collective decisions — from adopting new rules to electing representatives of sageocratic governance circles.

Sovereign identity

Self-held digital identity (DID — Decentralized Identity), allowing each member to control their credentials, contribution history and rights within the community.

Immutable community registries

On-chain recording of community commitments, agreements and contracts — an unalterable collective memory, without dependence on an external legal authority.

  • Open interoperability protocol
  • Network of partner communities
  • Contribution to emerging standards

" Money, in its current form, is the language of the system we seek to move beyond. The Reliances are another language — that of relationship, contribution and balance. "

Founding thought

La Sageocratie

The philosophical framework and organising principles within which the Reliances find their full meaning. The founding work defines the conditions for a balanced economy, governance circles and collective decision mechanisms that the DApps are built to support.
